A Family A Fair

Takes place on September 11, 2010

Families can have a “splash” while supporting a worthwhile cause during a day-long special event, “A Family A Fair,” at The League for People with Disabilities on Sept. 11. Not only will the event offer fun for the entire family, it will also launch a $1 million “Be a Lifesaver” campaign to raise funds for the renovation of The League’s Olympic-sized, heated pool, which is used for recreation and therapy year-round by children with autism, participants in the Special Olympics, and local residents of all abilities.

Highlights include appearances by “Batman” and popular Washington, DC magician, “The Great Zucchini.” Baltimore’s Pumpkin Theatre and Port Discovery Children’s Museum will entertain children of all ages all day, while carnival games, rides, and boutiques will make it a delight to dive into support of this one-of-a-kind community pool.

Admission, which includes 25 activity tickets for games and food, is $25 per family. All proceeds will go to the renovation of The League pool. More information is available by calling 410-323-0500 or visiting http://www.leagueforpeople.org/fair/home.html
